Betty Grace Morris, age 88, passed away on Tuesday, April 10, 2012, in Hospice of Northwest Ohio (Toledo Center) surrounded by her loving family and friends. She was born July 15, 1923 in Duncansville, Pennsylvania to James and Grace Rickert and moved to Toledo, OH in early childhood. She married Phillip Morris on January 23, 1943. She spent most of her life “mothering” and “grandmothering” children, even when they werent her own. She spent over 20 years volunteering at elementary schools, as she always loved working with children. In her free time, she enjoyed reading, crocheting, and spending time with her family. She was known as “Grandma” to lots of children in the neighborhood and school. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her brother (Paul Rickert) and her only daughter (Linda Coates). Left to cherish her memory are her sister, Merla Jahns; loving sons, James (Colleen), Paul (Kimm), John and Rick (Barb); many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, and many lifelong friends including, Nancy and Julia Schwartz, Mado Salazar, and Beverly Helton. Services will be held Monday, April 16th at Bible Temple on Airport Highway in Toledo at 1 P.M. ~God saw you getting tired and a cure was not to be,So He put his arms around you and whispered “Come with me.”With tear-filled eyes we watched you suffer and fade away,Although we loved you deeply, we could not make you stay.A golden heart stopped beating, hard working hands put to rest,God broke our hearts to prove to us, He only takes the best.~
