In loving memory of our Dad, Bert Rickie Compton, who passed away June 5, 2021 at Kingston nursing center in Sylvania, Ohio at the age of 69. He was born March 18,1952 at Flower Hospital in Toledo, Ohio to Goble Lee Compton & Margaret (Marg) Helen Compton-Szczublewski, who preceded him in death, along with his sister, Sheila Mominee-Compton and brother, Daryl Roy Compton. Sgt. Bert Compton served in the United States Army from 1979 to 1992. Sgt. Bert Compton was awarded The Army Commendation Medal for combat during Operation Desert Storm for his role in assisting the United Nations Coalition in Liberating the Republic of Kuwait from Iraqi armed aggression. During this time, he served with Headquarters & Headquarters company, 1st Battalion, 37th Armor, 3D “Bulldog” Brigade and 1st Armored Division. In Dad's free time, he enjoyed building model cars, listening to oldies, fishing, and spending as much time with his children as possible. He always looked forward to the holidays with us kids and he loved Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas the most. He also loved game nights with his children and to tell us his jokes. He could be pretty funny at times with his fun-loving sense of humor. Dad loved going to the Toledo Zoo with his family and he was a HUGE fan of the Ohio State Buckeyes. Our dad, Bert Compton, will be deeply missed by his family and is survived by: Wife: Andrea Compton (Tom) Children: Sheri Lynn Sorgani-Compton, Ryan Virgil Compton (Clarissa), Isabella Maria Fulat (Thomas & children), Patrick Dean Compton (Maranda), Jessica Sara-Ann Compton (Jason) Siblings: Goble Lee Compton Jr.(Lori), Randy Dennis Compton along with countless nephew and nieces. Our dad would always tell us kids, see you later gator! So after while crocodile 🙂 until we can see you again dad you will forever be in our hearts and forever missed! We love you! Love all your kids.
