Bernard E. "Bernie" Westhoven, age 69, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 31, 2025, at ProMedica Ebeid Hospice after an eight-month battle with cancer. Born on September 24, 1955, in Napoleon, Ohio to Bernard and Mary Westhoven.
A proud graduate of Liberty Center High School and Four County Career Center in 1973. Following his education, Bernie went on to work many years at Certified Document, then went on to construction, concrete everything in between including farming. Beyond being a jack of all trades Bernie had a kind heart and willingness to help others. He also spent time coaching flag football and had a passion for fishing.
Bernie is a brother to 18 siblings and is survived by his devoted wife of almost 40 years, Kim and his loving family: daughter, Erin Westhoven; sons, Matthew Westhoven and Ryan (Amanda) Smith. He was a cherished grandfather to Chase, Alan, Colton, and Andrew.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to longtime friend, Lee Whittington, along with the nurses and staff at ProMedica Ebeid Hospice (Hospice of Northwest Ohio) for their compassionate care.
Bernie’s kindness, dedication and love for his family and friends will be deeply missed and fondly remembered.
