It is with great sadness that we announce the loss of our Beloved Beningo Esparza, Jr (66). He passed away peacefully Saturday, June 7, 2025 surrounded by his loving family under hospice care. He fought a courageous battle with multiple health issues, until God gave him mercy and called him home.
He was born January 18, 1959 to the late Beningo Esparza, Sr. and Ruth (Nino) Esparza in Toledo, Ohio. He grew up in the south end and attended Libbey High School. Those that knew him, know his best quality was his personality. He was charming, intelligent, humorous and could bring joy and laughter to any room. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
In his younger years he worked for a music store and as a DJ. He then went on to have a successful career as an award-winning car salesman in several states. He was an avid Ohio Buckeyes and Toledo Mudhens fan. He enjoyed art, music, and spending time with family.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Brian Martinez; sister, Trina Apodaca, brother-in-law, Rudy Apodaca; and sister-in-law, Frances Martinez. He is survived by his loving partner of 20 years, Olga; son, Dominic Esparza; grandchildren, Angelina, Dominic Jr, and Mason; great granddaughter, Leigha; brothers, Louis (Martha) Quiroga, Robert Martinez, John (Gail Nix) Martinez, Simon Martinez Jr., Ernest (Virginia) Esparza; sisters, Anamaria Portillo, Diane (Esparza) Janczewski; sister-in-law, Patricia Martinez, along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A Mass will be held at Saints Peter & Paul Catholic Church, 738 S. St. Clair St., Toledo, Ohio 43609 on Saturday, July 12 at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be private. The family wishes to thank Advance Healthcare Staff for the care they provided for Benny over the years.
