Barry Wofford, age 74, passed away on August 27, 2021 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio after a five-year courageous battle with cancer. He was born on March 3, 1947 in Forrest City, Arkansas. He moved to Toledo, Ohio at a young age residing in East Toledo. Barry graduated from Waite High School 1966 and then attended Owens Community College. He was an Army Veteran of the Vietnam War. Barry worked for Toledo Edison for 25 years before retiring and going on to work for the City of Detroit Public Lighting Department. After working there for 13 years he retired in 2006. Barry enjoyed Traveling, Flea Markets, Grilling, Listening to Motown & the Blues, and Inventing things. He was issued five U.S. Patents. Barry was always trying to find a way to make things work better, and he could fix anything. People from all over the city would call him for repairs. He recently renovated his daughter’s new home with amazing results. Barry was preceded in death by his grandparents Jerry and Ethel Wofford, father Woody, uncle Nathaniel, brother Eric, sister Rene, niece Angelica, and beloved canine Max. He is survived by his loving wife of 38 years Pamela, mother Geneva, daughter Gwendolyn, sons Patrick and Troy (Felicia) Montgomery, two grandsons, sister Carolyn (Kurt) Langseth, brothers Shelby and Richard (Stephanie), and a host of other relatives and friends. The immediate family will have a small and private celebration of life. God saw that you were getting weary So He did what He thought was best. He came and stood beside you And whispered, “Come and rest” You bade no one a last farewell, Not even a good-bye, You were gone before we knew it And only God knows why.
