Barbara L. Rolander, age 86 of Toledo passed away peacefully at Hospice of N.W. Ohio, on Saturday, June 23, 2018. She was born on January 19, 1932 in Jamestown, N.Y., the daughter of Gordon and Lucille (Tompkins) Carlson. Barb, a former registered nurse, was very outgoing and loved being in the company of people, especially her many wonderful friends and neighbors. She always had a way of making people feel at ease, even when she was at her sickest. She had a passion for books, movies, plays, and going out for Friday night dinners with her neighbors. Over the years Barb enjoyed many Florida vacations and traveling with her husband both in the U.S. and abroad. Barb is survived by her daughter, Lynn (Jim) Hull; sons, Steven (Amy), Gregory (Claudia) and Daniel (Daryce); brother, Bradley (Janice) Carlson; 11 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and beloved dog, Heidi. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Charles “Herb.” A celebration of life gathering of family and friends will be held in Barbara’s memory from 11-2 on Saturday, June 30, 2018 at her home.
