“Love can hope where reason can despair.” Barbara Claire Rochelle, born January 27, 1943, went to continue her spiritual life on April 18, 2021 in Sylvania Ohio, after a long struggle with health issues, and a brief stay at The Lakes of Sylvania. Barbara was born in Toledo, Ohio on January 27, 1943 and graduated from Notre Dame Academy. She attended University of Toledo and Mary Manse College and graduated from BGSU with a B.S. in education as an Art Specialist. She taught art at Tiffin Calvert and Genoa High Schools and retired from the Toledo Public School System. She was an antiques dealer for many years, and specialized in country, Shaker, primitives and folk art. She loved children, bunnies, dogs, flowers, and all things living. She was the daughter of Clara (Krause) and Palmer Sheldon Rochelle. She is mother to Gretchen (Brian) Barr, Susan Billmaier, and Donald (Michelle) Billmaier, grandmother to Alexander Billmaier, and sister to two brothers, Lawrence (Ruth) Rochelle and Robert (Cindy) Rochelle. Special mentions to all her 4-legged loves: Penny, Zebby, Yoki, Pete, Amber, Ace, BrownDog, Diamond, Mickey, Duke, Bootey, Stinky, Karmie and Waldo. Cremation has occurred, and a private service will be held when ashes are spread. The family wishes to thank the staff at The Lakes of Sylvania and Promedica Hospice. Memorial Contributions can be made to Save-a-Pet or any animal rescue group.
