Barbara "Barb" Jean (Sharbonneau) Rizor, born October 1942, passed away at the age of 78 on August 19th, peacefully in her home from natural causes. She was predeceased by her father and mother, Joel and Genevieve Sharbonneau and younger sister, Sharon. She is survived by her husband, James (married close to 59 years and who lovingly took care of her for 2 years after her stroke); daughter, Lisa Marie (Rick) Moses; son, Jesse; five grand kids, Cassondra, Twayne, Gabriel, Denver, and Aubri; two great-grand kids, Tyler and Genevieve; sister, Shirley Hoover and a large number of nieces and nephews. Throughout her life, Barbara was a very animated, giggly and a mystical person. You could swear to heaven you’ve seen the fairies, nymphs, sprites and gnomes roaming about their way while the chimes tinkled in the breeze after an afternoon listening to her wealth of spiritual knowledge. She enjoyed being an astrologist and making horoscopes for people leading her to teach, resulting in numerous lifelong relationships with her students. Barbara didn’t just have hobbies, she had passions for what she liked to do. She passed down an endless love of books and reading to her children. There wasn’t a room that didn’t have book cases full or overflowing and often was reading 3-5 books that she kept stored around the house. She painted ceramics and often went to ceramic shows with her sister, Shirley, and friends. She enjoyed playing Bunco and collecting Elvis and Betty Boop items. Elvis was a big start to her Saturday mornings, bright and early, both singing their way through the house, and Barbara loved her loud stereo. Barbara was an avid camper, often spending nearly the entire summer sharing outdoor time with her mother-in-law, Mary, sister, Shirley, nieces, Sam and Nancy, often playing her favorite card game, Rummy, late into the night. She would camp all year round if it was possible. Barbara was always on the go and was able to fulfill two major life goals of seeing Graceland and the Statue of Liberty. Barbara’s favorite time of the year was winter. She loved the snow and every year at first snow fall, she would get excited and dance around the house ruminating in the season and her passion for Christmas. She truly enjoyed the family gathering, the decorations throughout the house, music in the background and the tree stuffed to its star full of gifts. She definitely was a wholehearted believer in Santa and you wouldn’t tell her otherwise. Angels graced the house as if they were singing to heaven. You wouldn’t blink if you knew her, learning that some Santa and Angel decorations never got put away until August. Barbara will be missed dearly by her family and friends and the lives she has touched. Barbara’s Celebration of her Life will be held September 18th at 1241 Kieswetter Rd., Holland, Ohio 43528 from 1pm – 5pm. We will be celebrating her life Christmas style. All ye are welcome to wear their Merry attire. Just remember “Every time a bell rings, an Angel gets their wings”
