Barbara L. Naus

Barbara Naus (Pickens), a devoted mother and grandma, passed away on February 11, 2022 at the age of 59 in Toledo, Ohio. She passed from a 2 year battle with brain cancer. She was born September 24, 1962 to Emmett and Sue (Gorney) Pickens. Barb graduated from Whitmer High School in 1981. In 1986 she married Steven Naus and had 3 children together. Barb loved looking after her children plus many more, she often talked about how she was blessed with her children. When she became a grandmother she was “over the moon”. She also enjoyed doing many crafts, and camping with her partner of 20 years Mike Tallent. She is survived by her ex husband Steven Naus; partner Mike Tallent; children Andrew (Caitlin) Naus, Matthew Naus, and Caitlyn (Lawrence) Dunbar; grandchildren Thomas (TJ), Sophia, Emmett, and Wyett; siblings Rose (Jim) Williams, Tammy Parker, Lori Zasada, Kevin Pickens, Scott (Nareen) Pickens, and Gerald Pickens, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Emmett and Sue Pickens, and siblings Ken (Grace) Pickens, Jim (Lisa) Pickens. “We all die. The goal isn’t to live forever, the goal is to create something that will.” Barb did just that. She’s touched too many lives to count and her memory and legacy will live on in them. Barb’s requests were to have a celebration of life, which family will have at a later date.
