Barbara A. Mccravey

October 2, 1944 — April 15, 2023

Barbara Ann McCravey (Fulton) Born in Toledo, OH on October 2nd, 1944.

On April 15th, 2023, Barbara, 78 years old, lost her battle with cancer after six months. She was surrounded by her loving family at Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Toledo.

Barb is preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, James L. McCravey; her parents, Floyd Fulton and Arlene (Nye/ Fulton)(Mike) Tanasichuk, and sister, Pam (Brad) Zibbell.

Barb is survived by her children, Vicki (Derrick) LaCombe, David (Rhonda) Miller, Joan Miller, Wendy (Jason) Wilson, Lisa Hunt; her stepchildren, Jimmy McCravey and John McCravey; siblings, Kathy Lane, Robert (Kim) Fulton, Tom (Crystal) Fulton, Patricia (Tom) Harris.

Barb was called a warrior by any nurse/staff who cared for her periodically the past six months at ProMedica Hospital and Ohio Living Home Health.

To her children, we called her mom, mama, and mommy. For others it was grandma, sister, mama Barb, aunt, wife, cousin, friend and Barbie.

Barb loved deeply and is loved deeply by so many. She loved Twin Acres campground where her and Jim lived year-round for well over 11 years. She loved family reunions, cookouts at her home with family, country and bluegrass music, monthly 'cousins' day' with Linda, Diane, Deb, sister Kathy and a few times, Liz. She loved traveling and cruising. Barb loved her dog Kayla and the cat who adopted her in December, 2022, whom she named Tippy Taco.

She was the BEST grandma to 26 grandchildren and 49 great grandchildren.

Barb enjoyed phone calls and visits with her lifelong friends.

Barb performed many jobs in her working career including bar tender, ice cream factory worker, candy making factory worker, and at the Sunbeam bread thrift store, just to name a few. She retired in 2011 from Norplas where she was a team leader. Her coworkers describe her as, "fun and caring and really good at planning potlucks."

Our family would like to thank Hospice of Northwest Ohio (Toledo), for the wonderful care they provided. They are amazing; also Sincera Palliative Care team, Dr. Collier and Kate NP, for their support; and Ohio Living Home Health nursing/PT/OT for always being positive every time they walked through her door.

A very special thank you to nurse Laura for adopting Tippy Taco into her fur-ever family.

A Celebration of Life will be held on May 21st, from 11am-5pm at Richfield Center Hall in Berkey, OH.

All donations can be made to The American Cancer Society or to the Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
