Barbara Jean (Nagucki) Grindle, Age 83, passed away quietly at home on July 8, 2026. She leaves behind a legacy of music, laughter and boundless love. Born on October 10, 1942, Barb lived a life defined by her extraordinary work ethic, her vibrant spirit, and an unwavering kindness. She was incredibly lively, blessed with a therapeutic laugh and contagious smile that could light up any room. Barb radiated love to everyone she encountered, and the loss of such a beautiful, bright soul will be deeply felt by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Barbs legendary work ethic started the age of 4 working on Joe the Farmers Farm. That Industrious Spirit later guided her entire life culminating in a long, dedicated career from DASO's Bakery in the Old South End of Toledo, to Howard Johnsons, and eventually retiring from the Lucas County Department of Human Services.
Beyond her hard work, music, movement, and sharing time with her longtime Companion, Ozzy, were the heartbeat of Barbs life. She poured energy into Polka Dancing, Clogging, Singing, and playing bass guitar, even taking on the challenge of learning piano later on in life. A natural performer, Barb shared her talents regularly playing in Windsor, Canada for a decade. As well as clubs, Senior centers, and County Fairs, taking immense pride and pure joy in every single performance.
Barb was preceded in a death by her beloved husband Larry Grindle. Her memory will be forever cherished by her children Randy (Lisa) Weil, Tamera (Bill) Martre, Christal (John) Perez, and Daniel Weil. Her grandchildren, Christina (Chris) Perez, Juan (Kristen) Perez, James Perez, Alyssa (Patrick) Murray, Jake (Rebecca) Martre and Meagan (Michael) Weil. Barb also had great-grandchildren who brought her endless Joy.
Service will be held at St. Lucas Luthern Church at 745 Walbridge Ave, Toledo, Ohio on Thursday, July 30th beginning at 6:00 pm with food, remembrance and music to follow!
