Barbara Jean Grant

Barbara Jean Grant, 86, of Monclova, Ohio, passed away peacefully on October 24, 2025, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, surrounded by love. She was born on September 20, 1939, in Monclova, Ohio, to Harry and Harriett (Davis) Butler.

Barbara graduated from Springfield High School and, on November 26, 1960, married her best friend and lifelong partner, Blaine Richard Grant. Throughout her career, she worked as a bookkeeper for several small businesses, assisted in the engineering department at Owens Illinois, and proudly owned and operated her own dry-cleaning business in Toledo, Ohio.

Family was the center of Barbara’s world. She cherished every moment spent with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Known for organizing family gatherings filled with laughter, love, and good food, she created a legacy of togetherness. Barbara’s strong faith guided her throughout her life, and she was a devoted member of Monclova Road Baptist Church.

Barbara is survived by her husband, Blaine Grant; children Richard Grant (Barbara Annette) and Cathy Grant; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and her sister Kay (Ron) Floyd. She was preceded in death by her parents and her siblings Harry Butler, Vivian Weeks, Gloria Hotz, June Meyers, and Lois Myers.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Barbara’s caregivers over the past two years. Their kindness and compassion allowed her to enjoy her final years with comfort, friendship, and joy.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 8, 2025, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Cremation Society of Toledo, 7438 Airport Hwy, Holland, OH 43528. Funeral services will follow at 3:00 p.m. at the funeral home. There will be a private Burial with immediate family at a later date.
