Audrey Sue (Eggert) Harris

March 8, 1944 — November 5, 2025

Audrey Sue (Eggert) Harris, a beacon of light and an embodiment of enduring faith, was called to her eternal rest, on November 5, 2025, at the Hospice of Northwest Ohio. Born in Toledo, Ohio, on March 8, 1944, to the late, Elery Edward Eggert and the late, Minnie Mildred Cornell, Audrey's life was a testament to love, resilience, and a deep, abiding spirituality that touched all who knew her.

Audrey's journey began in Toledo, leading her to attend both Ida High School and Whitmer High School, before establishing deep roots in Ida, Michigan, where she resided for most of her life. Her professional path was as diverse as her spirit: she lent her hands to Libby Glass and Chrysler Pentastar Aviation, worked in a plastic factory, and ultimately pursued her passion for beauty, becoming a skilled beautician and owning her own, cherished shop. In every endeavor, she carried a divine grace and an unwavering work ethic.

A woman of profound spiritual strength, Audrey navigated life's triumphs and tribulations with a heart anchored in faith. She found God's presence in the simple moments of life and shared that light generously with her family and friends. Her love was a guiding force, nurturing generations and creating a legacy of warmth and acceptance.

Audrey has been reunited in heaven with her beloved husband, Harry Harris; her parents; her cherished sons, Thomas Roy Melcer and Timothy Edward Melcer; stepchildren, Tammy and Troy Harris; two brothers; and six sisters.

Her loving spirit lives on in the hearts of those she leaves behind her daughter, Rona (Melcer) Kouwenhoven and son-in-law William Kouwenhoven; ten grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Though we mourn her physical absence, we celebrate the eternal light she now shines upon us. Audrey Sue (Eggert) Harris has not left us; she has merely transitioned from the temporal to the eternal, resting in the loving embrace of the Divine. May her soul find everlasting peace, and may her legacy of love and faith continue to inspire all who were blessed to know her.
