Arvella Mae Dickman, age 77, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 25, 2022 at her home. Arvella was born on January 29, 1945 in Toledo, Ohio. She graduated from Swanton High School in 1963. Arvella married James R. Dickman Sr. in July of 1966. He preceded her in death. Most of Arvella’s life was spent doing home healthcare for the elderly. In 2000, Arvella retired and fulfilled her dream of moving to Florida. She lived in the Clearwater area for 20 years and moved back to Ohio in 2020, residing in Walbridge. Arvella enjoyed gardening, visiting with friends and spending time with her family. Her most recent love was her dog, Baby. She is survived by her three children, James R. (Cindi) Dickman Jr., Deborah L. (Gary) Schwind, and Todd C. (Pamela) Dickman; brother Bobby (Sandy) Stinson; sisters-in-law Nancy Ayers, Carol Edmondson and Sharon Stinson; brother-in-law Randy Mastin; aunt and uncle Alice and Chuck Bruckner; 13 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; many cousins, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Alvin Douglas Stinson and Helen Mae (Monaghan) Stinson; brothers Ronald Stinson, Gerald “Jerry” Stinson, and Glenn (Karen) Stinson; sister Shirley Stinson; sisters-in-law Arlene VonAhrens and Marilyn (Jerry Sr.) Gee; brother-in-law Lawrence Dickman; and granddaughter Lindsay Dickman. Family and friends are welcome to a Celebration of Life on September 25, 2022 from 2 – 4 PM at the Swanton American Legion.
