Antonio Mariano Fernandez

Antonio Mariano Fernandez Fernandez, “Tony”, age 87, peacefully passed away on October 27, 2022 in Toledo, OH. He joins his wife of 53 years, Edia Pagán Tomassini in heaven. He is survived by his five children; Antonio, Tony, Noe, Orlando (Kristen), and Harida (Douglas) Hampton. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren; Shayla, Kayla, Joseph, Orlando, Shelby, Kristina, and Lydia, and 3 great-grandchildren, Rome, Alijah, and Legend.

Antonio was born in Orocovis, Puerto Rico and raised in Barranquitas. He served our country state side during the Korean war and owned Tony’s Delicatessen in Lorain for more than 20 years. In 1981, he earned a diploma in Advanced Small Engine Repair from Belsaw Institute.

Antonio was a kind, hard-working husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend who generously gave to all. He could be found tending to his garden or tinkering with small engines and Tv’s. He loved to play dominos and enjoyed dropping his last domino on top of the stack while wearing a sly grin. He will fondly be remembered as having a nickel in his pocket for the bambinos.

At his request, there will be no service. Antonio will be interred at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Seville, Ohio on Saturday, November 12th at 9:30AM. Condolences for the family may be sent to PO Box 352273, Toledo, OH 43635.
