Anthony “Tony” Granata, Jr., age 85, passed away peacefully on December 15, 2025. He was born on December 2, 1940, to Anthony P. Granata, Sr. and June Irene Strong in Adrian, Michigan.
Tony graduated from Rogers High School and devoted a portion of his life to serving in the United States Army. On February 6, 1965, he married his high school sweetheart, Dorothy Marlene Cogle, and together they enjoyed a loving partnership that lasted for 47 years.
A dedicated truck driver for Local 20, Tony also had a variety of interests that brought joy to his life. He found pleasure in golfing, bowling, playing cards, and hosting family cookouts. His community involvement extended to memberships with the American Legion Sylvania Post 468, The Sylvania Moose, and The Club.
Tony is survived by his children, Anthony Granata III (Cathy), Connie (Nick) Granata Myers, and Chad (Patti) Granata, Sr., along with eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Dorothy, and his parents.
In accordance with Tony’s wishes, there will be no funeral services. The family plans to hold a celebration of life at a later date to honor his memory and legacy.
