Annerle (Ann) Margarethe Vogelsang, 87, passed away July 26, 2022 at The Lakes of Monclova, Maumee, Ohio. She was born in Hamburg, Germany on June 10, 1935 to Theodor and Anna Junginger. Ann met and married her husband, Roger Dean Vogelsang in Germany where he was serving in the U.S. Air Force. Roger brought his young bride “Anny” back to the United States and they enjoyed 62 years of marriage together. Ann took pleasure in knitting, gardening, reading books and playing cards with Roger and their friends. She loved spending time at the lake swimming, kayaking and going for pontoon boat rides. Ann was especially fond of dogs and loved to walk at the park and throw the ball for her little girl Allie. When it came to cooking, no one could make schnitzel and German potato salad like Ann! Ann was employed by Sears in Toledo, Ohio for over 30 years working in the automotive center. She had an outgoing personality and was an excellent salesperson. Customers were charmed by her accent and impressed with her knowledge of tires and batteries. Ann will be deeply missed by her son, Perry (Kim) Vogelsang; daughter Heidi Vogelsang; grandchildren Dandi (Cal) Spearance, Brandon (Sarah) Ziemke, Bobby Ziemke, Kirsten (Michael) Rustenbach, Jason Berning and Teri (Juan) Ziemke Varillas; numerous great grandchildren; brother Horst Junginger, sister Heidi Behling and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Theodor and Anna, husband Roger, eldest daughter Jenny and brother Herman. Ann was active and fun-loving and will be fondly remembered as “Mimi” by her grandchildren and friends alike. The family extends a special thank you to the staff at The Lakes of Monclova and ProMedica Hospice for their friendship and for the tender loving care they provided. Ann will take her final rest next to Roger at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park. Visitation, followed by a memorial service, will be held on Monday August 15th at 2:00pm at The Chapel of Peace, 4210 West Central Ave., Toledo, Ohio. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a contribution to the Toledo Area Humane Society in remembrance of Ann.
