Andrew J. Duckworth

Andrew "Stingrayy" Jon Duckworth, age 46, of Toledo, Ohio, passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, June 12th, 2025. Andrew was born on October 20th, 1978, at Toledo Hospital, to Derek Edward Duckworth and Janet Elizabeth Duckworth. A lifelong Toledo resident, Andrew was born, raised, and lived his entire life in the city he called home. He graduated from Whitmer High School in 1997. Andrew was in the final semesters of his college degree in Education, a field he was deeply passionate about. He always embraced the challenge to learn and explore the true meaning of a subject, taking great pride in having an in-depth understanding of why things were the way they were. He was known for his insightful nature, always looking past the obvious to explore why things happened instead of simply taking situations at face value. This characteristic, combined with his passion for truth and facts, would have made him an excellent instructor.

Andrew's greatest joys were his nieces and nephews. He consistently went out of his way to make them feel loved and special, not just on birthdays or special occasions, but every time he saw them. Beyond his family, his beloved dogs were his next priority, receiving his devoted care. Andrew had a profound love for all varieties of music; if you ever caught him in his car, the music was likely cranked to "11" with him enthusiastically singing along. He was also an avid sports enthusiast and a passionate fan of the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. In his younger years, Andrew enjoyed working as a driver for his Dad's pharmacy.

Andrew was known for his strong will and a unique combination of being both extremely neat and semantic in his approach to life.

Andrew is survived by his loving father, Derek Duckworth, and his brothers, Ben Duckworth and his wife Michelle (children Myles and Norah), and Zach Duckworth and his wife Rachel (children Renn and Rory). He was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Janet Duckworth.

There will be a celebration of life tribute for Andrew at the Dugan/Duckworth home at 5939 E. Heights Ave, Toledo, Ohio 43613 beginning at 4 o’clock on October 18th, 2025. Food and drink will be provided. Please come and celebrate Andy’s life with us.
