Anastasia Catherine Byers died on July 4th, 2021 at the grand age of 95- an appropriate day for a true firecracker in life. She was born Anastasia Catherine Rogers on September 30, 1925 in Warren, Ohio and was the middle child of Lawrence and Alice (Murphy) Rogers. She graduated from Warren G. Harding High School in 1943 and worked at the Warren Telephone Company. Stasia married LeRoy Bernard (Barney) Byers on July 31, 1948 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Warren, OH. She continued to work until it was time to raise their family of four on Belvedere Blvd. in Warren. Later she returned to work at Trumbull Radiologist and Globe-Wies in Wauseon, OH. Stasia was a devote Catholic, praying the Rosary from the time she could count the beads. She lived for her family and was a faithful and supportive friend. Her friendships spanned many decades. She was naturally curious and loved to talk to people and enjoyed a delicious cookie with good conversation. She was an active volunteer leading Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts, and in any way needed at St. James Church in Warren and St. Caspar Church in Wauseon. Stasia and Barney moved to Wauseon in 1974 when he became District Manager with United Telephone Company. Stasia enjoyed visiting Cedar Point every summer in Sandusky with her family, in what became an annual tradition across generations. She was a constant source of joy, love and hilarity to her family and friends. She celebrated life and she hoped that whomever is reading this now will smile in her memory. Stasia is survived by her children, Mary Alice Meacham (Ralph) of Lake Milton, L. Bernard Byers (Anne) of Hilliard, and Pegi Mitro of Perrysburg. She received great joy in her grandchildren, Mark Byers Snyder of New York City, Kate Margaret Snyder of Cleveland, Stephanie McDaniel (John, daughter Charlotte) of Dublin, Emily Margaret Tabler (Jeff) of Hilliard, Nicholas Bernard Byers of Hilliard, Christopher Mitro (Alice, son Ethan) of Columbus, Megan Mitro of Perrysburg, Alison Mitro (Ryan Crahan) of Perrysburg, and Lauren Mitro of Bozeman, Montana. She is also survived by her nephews, William Crawford, Larry (Evie) Crawford, Patrick Byers (Cindy), Daniel Byers (Jan), Brian Byers (LuAnn), Brennan Byers, Mary Jane (John) Stoll, Robert Byers, and beloved great-nephews and nieces. Preceding Stasia in death were her parents; her husband, Barney Byers; her son, Lawrence Hubert Byers; her grandsons, Gregg Robert Snyder and Matthew Stephen Reese; her sister, Margaret Crawford (William); and brother, Lawrence.
