Alphonse J. Versprille, Jr.

Alphonse J. Versprille, age 86, passed away Sunday, February 25, 2024.

Al was a proud marine, serving for several years after graduating from Maumee High School. He spent his career as a general contractor. Al raced pigeons as a hobby, a tradition that his father brought from Europe. He was also an avid golfer.

Al is survived by his wife of 56 years, Joyce (McFarland) Versprille; daughter, Lynda Robinson; grandson, Chris “Champ” (Christine) Flynn and their children, Logan, Finley and Colin; granddaughter, Ally (Jim) Armbruster and their children, Sloane and Nash; sister, Robin Ross; brother-in-law, Tom Stapleton; sister-in-law, Marlene McFarland; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Dick Versprille, Mary Skinner and Sandy Stapleton; and brothers-in-law, Edward “Sonny” Skinner, Morris “Buddy” Ross, and E. Robert McFarland.
