Allen Lee Daugherty, Sr.

In loving memory of Allen Lee Daugherty Sr., who passed peacefully away in Toledo, Ohio, on November 21, 2023.

He will be dearly missed, but his memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

Born on February 5, 1947, in Beckley, WV, Allen was a devoted family man and beloved son of the predeceased Leroy Allen Daugherty and Dollie Marie Daugherty (née Hughes). He is survived and remembered with love by his brother, Howard Daugherty. Predeceased his late siblings, Gary Daugherty and Darlene Daugherty Gerlach.

Allen shared 57 beautiful years of marriage with his cherished wife, Constance Omega Daugherty Barb since July 17, 1966.

A proud graduate of Portsmouth East High School in 1965, Allen had a fulfilling career with City Auto, Champion Spark Plug, and retired from Brown Corporation in 2008.

He leaves behind a legacy of love and family in his sons, Allen Daugherty Jr., and Brian Daugherty and wife, Jennifer Hopkins Daugherty, and his adored grandchildren, Nicole Smith, Crystal Smith, and Sophie Daugherty. Allen is also survived by six great-grandchildren.

A man of diverse interests, Allen found joy in hunting, fishing, camping, and reading. His love for family was evident in every moment he spent with them.

In lieu of funeral services, the family requests donations in Allen's name to the Paralyzed Veterans of America (https://pva.org) and the Humane Society (https://humanesociety.org).

The Daugherty family expresses deep gratitude to the Hospice of Northwest Ohio for providing comfort during Allen's final days. A memorial service to celebrate his life will be announced for the summer of 2024.
