Alice Blanche Montgomery-Sisson was born December 10, 1933 in Sweetwater, TN to the late Roy Oggs and Eliza Wells-Oggs. To this union four children were born. She received her wings on October 20, 2021, in her home due to complications of Alzheimers. She moved to Toledo after marriage and raised four children, Jackie, Andre, Michael, and Marcus. Braden United Methodist Church was her Spiritual Home in Toledo where she served as church secretary for a while and doing what she loved most “singing”. Alice started singing as a child and always sang in a choir from the age of 2 years until she no longer could in 2020. She would sing everyday of her life up to her last breath. Receiving her Bachelors in Physical Education from Knoxville College with a minor in Secretarial Science, she worked with Goodwill Industries for a few years teaching typing and shorthand. After getting her Certification in Special Education from the University of Toledo, she went on to work for the Toledo Public School system until retirement in 1996, she has always loved children. Alice was an avid athlete participating in bowling, basketball and softball but, her favorite was golf. She learned to play in her 30's and golfed for many years with various groups in the Toledo area. She was a member of the Midwestern Golfers Club, T-Town Swingers Club and a Marshal for Ottawa Park Golf Course. She always loved working with the youth as part of the TMGA program, practicing and introducing them to the game she loved so much. She was most happy around family. There was nothing she would not do for family. She cherished each and every one and helped raise her sisters’ children (Sonny, Tony, Cat and Mary), playing an influential role in their lives just as she did in the lives of children that were not biologically hers. Christmas was her favorite holiday and Christmas’ were always filled with family, food, games and gifts in our home. Anytime she could spend with family was her favorite.
