Albert Brailsford

Albert (Al) Brailsford, age 77, passed away peacefully at the Hospice of Northwestern Ohio on January 9, 2011 after a brief illness. He was born in Derby England, on February 6, 1933, to the late Edward and Ellen Brailsford. He is survived by his wife, Lula Brailsford, of Perrysburg, his sister, Sylvia (Nev) Walklate of Derby England, his sons, Terry (Maryellen) Brailsford of Hudson, NH, Christopher (Becky) Brailsford of Sacramento, CA, and David (Melody) Brailsford of Perrysburg, OH, his grandchildren Jason, Tanya, Esther, Alyssa, Samantha, and Phillip, and his great-grandchildren Tanner, Tabitha, Mallory, Andrew, Quinton, Patrick and Timothy.Al immigrated from England to the United States in 1967 with his family as he felt that it would provide better opportunities for his children. A weaver by trade, he was most proud of the work he did manufacturing high quality lace. He worked for the Jobst Institute in Toledo until 1981 when he moved to Rhode Island where he had an opportunity to once again work in the lace trade. After a mild stroke in 1987, Al retired to Tucson AZ. He returned to the Toledo area in 2003 where he spent time with friends and family. Al was an avid fisherman and could often be found at Sidecut Park enjoying his favorite pastime.In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to the Hospice of Northwestern Ohio, 30000 East River Rd.
