Florence Joan
Florence “Joan” Harrison,
who just moved to Toledo
from St. Louis, Missouri in
May of this year, died at the
Ebeid Hospice Residence in
Sylvania, Ohio, on November
23, 2009.
Born in Gary, Indiana on
December 21, 1931, the only
child of Hoke S. and Lula
Belle (Jackson) Bray, Joan
attended Purdue University
and remained an avid Boilermakers
fan until her death.
She was a devoted wife and
mother, an accomplished
bridge player, and an inspired
cook. She will be
missed by many.
Joan is survived by her husband
of 59 years, Dean C.
Harrison. Also left to mourn
are three of her four children,
Catherine H. Killam,
wife of Gregory A. Peterson,
Matthew D. Harrison (Stacey),
of Yarmouth, MA, and
Patricia A. Moehlman, wife
of Mark Moehlman, of Denver,
CO. Also surviving are
seven grandchildren and two
great-grandchildren.
No local memorial service is
scheduled, however, memorial
donations are encouraged
to the Alzheimer’s
Association, 2500 North Reynolds
Rd., Toledo, OH 43615
or to the Ebeid Hospice
Residence, Haroun Road,
Sylvania, Ohio 43560. Online
